Latest Technology

At Chira Orthodontics, safety and predictability matters. When introducing new technology to her practice, Dr. Chira makes 100% sure that the addition will benefit clients with a service to fulfill the 8 treatment goals and is not simply a marketing tool.

Digital and Analysis Technology

To give you the healthy, beautiful, straight smile you’ve always wanted, we utilize innovative digital treatment planning. Using this digital technology, we can create an orthodontic treatment plan that is specifically customized for you.

Each patient’s orthodontic condition is unique, which is why we develop each patient’s treatment plan based on his/her specialized diagnosis. The treatment planning process involves taking digital photographs, X-rays, and digital impressions.

Digital Photography

We utilize high-resolution digital photography to capture detailed images of your mouth, thus enabling us to maintain sharp, accurate records and keep you thoroughly informed of your treatment progress.

Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Imaging

CBCT imaging is a type of digital scanning we use that provides accurate measurements, improves localization of impacted teeth, provides visualization of airway abnormalities, it identifies and quantifies asymmetry, it can be used to assess periodontal structures, to identify endodontic problems, to plan placement sites for temporary skeletal anchorage devices, and to view condylar positions and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) bony structures. Dr. Chira uses CBCT imaging on patients suffering from temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), airway problems, and patients with developmental aberrations of permanent teeth. CBCT imaging was designed to offset some of the limitations of conventional CT scanning devices while also reducing the exposure of patients to radiation.

Quick Ceph

This imaging, diagnostic, and treatment planning software includes support for the latest technologies in the orthodontic field. The Quick Ceph program integrates cone beam computed tomography (CBCT or 3D imaging), digital x-rays, precise and reliable superimpositions using transparent x-ray images, unaltered archived digital images, and more.

Articulator/Mounted Model Analysis

Plaster molds of your teeth are mounted on a special instrument called an articulator that provides a three-dimensional simulation of the movement of your jaw. This diagnostic process is a critical means of fulfilling the eight measurable goals by best representing the relationship of the temporomandibular joints, muscles of mastication, teeth, and supporting structures. The articulator provides a crucial added dimension to diagnosis that helps in gathering more information by active visualization of the pretreatment misalignment, and permits the visualization of various functional movements. This information is impossibleto gather from hand-held model analysis, a static diagnosis technique used by most dentist. By utilizing an articulator, Dr. Chira and her staff provide complete orthodontic and body care with the ability to fully diagnose the relationship of each patient’s jaw, teeth, and temporomandibular joints.

Digital X-rays, or radiographs, are also used in our office to provide us with invaluable information about your oral and dental health. By placing a wireless sensor in your mouth and using high-tech computer software, we are able to generate digital images of your mouth significantly faster than traditional X-rays. Not only are they friendly to the environment, they are much safer than traditional X-rays, reducing your exposure to radiation by 90 percent!
